  • Thank you for attending conferences. It is wonderful that these students have such a great team of support in their lives!
  •  We have spent the month focusing on gratitude. I hope you are seeing more appreciation and thankfulness from your 5th grader.  Have a great Thanksgiving!

December learning Targets~

Our December learning will include the following:

Math-  fractions and decimals with coordinate grids

Reader’s Workshop-
  • Learning new CAFE reading strategies to improve fluency & comprehension
  • Read 20-30 minutes a night to work towards 40 book genre goal
  • Other skills include author’s tone, root words, and use of reference materials

Writer’s Workshop- Write an opinion paper with reasons and evidence to support it, and holiday stories

10 Days of Christmas activities

Recommended Nightly Homework
  • Read 20-30 minutes
  • Practice spelling words for Friday Tests
  • IXL and/or multiplication fact cards 10 minutes
