Looking snazzy!

The music performance was fantastic! I was so proud of each one! Thank you parents for making sure they were dressed so sharp!

December 13th

Music performance is Friday at 1:30 in the gym

Students should dress up. Jeans and tee shirts are not allowed. I am excited to see this crew all fancied up at their performance! They have been working very hard on it.


  • Wednesday we have Unit 3 test on fractions
  • Friday is our week 11 spelling test
  • Girl scouts in our classroom are doing a project for the library and need our old jeans! we have a box in our classroom to collect them. I am so proud of these girls!
  • Reminder~If possible, a 2.00 donation for our party Dec.22. Send in any time. Thank you!

Here's what we have been working on:

Math- Finished Unit 2, Start Sumdog Contest
Reading- Comprehension strategies, independent reading
Writing- Shared our Spooky Stories & started opinion writing on election project
Spelling-Tested on week 6, next we will take maintenance tests to see how we are doing
Tech Time- Ixl, Spelling and learned google slides
Middle School-Finished Art, now we have science for 10 days

Homework: Keep reading 20-30 minutes a night, IXL, Sumdog math contest, please work on multiplication facts if you do not have them memorized!

Conferences coming up Nov. 8th and Nov. 10th.

Reminders:

*Due to our short week, there will not be a spelling test until next Friday, October 28th. Students have their list 5 to start studying for it.

*Homework each week:
Reading-Read 20-30 minutes nightly
Spelling-Study your 25 words on spelling City or write them out using your list
Math- ixl.com or the free app 10 minutes nightly

* I am disappointed to see that very few students are logging in to ixl to work on their math skills. We are focusing on multiplication facts right now. Make flash cards and review them please! The reading is on the honor system. I hope it is getting done, as it is very important to read a lot to become a good reader!

This week is Homecoming! Football game starts at 7:00. Our class is going to dress up for the last few days.

                  2:00 Science Laser in the gym

                  Friday-Wear school colors, Spelling Test, 12:40 Pep Fest 
                  2:30 Homecoming Parade! You are welcome to join us!

*Please make sure your child is reading 20-30 minutes a night and doing IXL to practice math skills for 10 minutes. *Let's get those multiplication facts mastered!

We have MCA's for math April 19th-21st. Reading MCA's will be the following week, April 26th -28th. A good night of sleep and a healthy breakfast with protein helps students succeed.
PRACTICE on IXL as often as possible. Students should be doing at least 10 minutes a night.
Also, we are nearing the end of the year, please encourage your child to continue to strive for their 40 book requirement in reading. Our class plans to have a party for those who achieve this goal! I know we can ALL do this!

  • Book Fair starts Feb. 29th with a back to the 60's theme. Students are encouraged to dress up that Monday. Bookfair hours are 8:30-7pm on Monday, 8:30-4 Tues.-Thurs.

  • Also, we have a science and a spelling test this Friday 2-5-16
